GPS tracking collars

Also posted in All About Dogs but I thought it would be worth posting in here too.

I'm looking at getting one of these for my dog who has started following walkers off the farm. The two I'm looking at are the RETREIVA and the LOC8TOR PET GPS - does anyone have any experience of either of these or another I should be looking at?

I would be highly dubious about allowing any dog the freedom to please itself; if that's what you allow, that's what the dog will do.

I would also never allow a dog freedom, or work, whilst wearing a collar. You and others may well disagree with me, but that's what I think.

Alec I'm trying to stop him pleasing himself!! And seeing as he can either jump over or limbo under most gates and fences and I'd rather not electrocute him I thought a collar that would send me a text message as soon as he leaves the farm would be a good idea so I can go and call him back
