Grace is learning to jump... (picture and some videos)

Tonight was the third time my instructor has jumped Grace for me... and she is really learning very quickly. You may remember the first time we jumped her I started wondering whether she would ever leave the floor after crashing through several attempts

Tonight we started with a cross, upped it a bit and then made a mini spread... I felt so proud of her because she has improved so much each time Andrea has jumped her for me!!!

So, this is the third time Grace has been jumped, so be a bit gentle with her, she's still learning what to do with her legs

This is the first time she has cantered to a fence too...

 
thats great news Becki. Im glad shes realised she needs to pick her legs up when theres a jump in front of her. So when is it your turn?

Anway stop showing off that you can put videos on here - I cant even get the one from last night downloaded - im ready to throw it all though the window.
 
Te he... I was like that a few weeks ago. The camera and the computer nearly went through the window

unfortunately mum bought the camcorder so I cant throw it out of the window. Just got my dad to have a look at it and he cant work it. Me thinks ill get mum to record off my camera next time, at least I know how to download/upload from that and I can choose which programme I want to use! Not a happy bunny (can you tell?

Like Weezy said - she has got a lovely settled approach it really shows how much you have been doing with her flatwork. she is a real credit to all the hard work you are putting in to her.
 
Rhythm is amazing. Once she's sorted her legs you have a really decent showjumper...Jumping is the easy bit ....It's the flatwork, which she cleary has, that stops most horses and riders doing well jumping. She's a real credit to you hard work x
 
Thanks honey... However, her career is definitely dressage bound but you never know, I could do a few small tracks on her eventually

I decided to get my instructor to do it because she is 4 star eventer and very confident and experienced. I thought Grace deserved to start in the best possible hands.

If only more people had the brains and sense that you do there would be more smashing youngsters jumping on the circuit and far fewer spoilt, broken ones

It was done so we could jump it both ways as I was struggling moving the poles with my back as it is at the moment.

Thanks Weezy... I just thought it would be best this way because if she wants to stop Andrea simply won't let her and she knows how much to ask from her.
 
You must be so proud of Gracie, she's come such a long long way in a relatively short space of time. She's a real credit to you. keep the up dates coming, I love following her progress!

She reminds me of Senza as Senza is all legs but a lot worse than Grace LOL
 
No way... that picture of Senza when you bought her was fantastic! Grace hasn't quite grasped the concept that she needs to tuck her legs up, but at least the jumps are now staying up

She didn't touch one last night, so I was absolutely thrilled with her! Especially as it is the first time she has done a mini spread... she didn't even look at it, just went straight over. The first video of her trotting to it was the first time she had seen the jump.

Yes but that was free schooling, when your on her its a totally different ball game LOL Its like being on a bat out of hell ha ha. She has got a lot better with her knocking actually she has just started to nap now instead

I serioulsy think your gonna have a little star on your hands there, especially if you continue the way you are with her, just need to convert you
