I hope that this is the right place/I'm allowed to put this here!

I just wanted to spread the word on behalf of a friend about Grace, a 5 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is looking for her forever home!

If you're interested PLEASE take a look at her facebook page: www.facebook.com/AdoptGrace

I'll also copy her info below.

Thank you!

Grace was found as a stray nearly a year ago now but has been with me on foster since the end of February 2012. She was extremely stressed and could not cope with life in kennels but unfortunately noone came forward for her. Initially I was a little unsure about fostering her but since bringing her home she has completely proven herself to be more than worth it. She is an absolute joy to have around and I really love her to pieces. Unfortunately however, I will soon be going into my fourth year at vet school and then clinical rotations, at which point my time is going to be extremely limited. Unless my circumstances change in some way, I'm hoping that Grace will be able to find the perfect home before this happens.

Although Grace will need an experienced home, if you know what you're doing she is the easiest dog you will ever have. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, house-trained and crate-trained. She's happily left alone while I am at university and is generally very quiet as she sleeps for most of the day. She has also boarded at AMK9 without any problems. Grace knows the commands; 'sit', 'down', 'paw' (both), 'stay', 'wait', 'come' and 'leave', more recently she has learnt 'speak', 'spin' and is learning to stand up on her back legs for 'up'. She's a good little alert dog too and will bark if there's someone at the door, she then sits in her crate and comes to meet them once they come in.

Out and about, walking Grace is just as easy as holding a handbag! She heels like a dream and happily potters about on the end of a flexi lead. She’ll sit and wait to cross the road and she absolutely loves going for a cycle and running alongside the bike! More recently I've started taking her to agility and we're now doing it off-lead with ease!

Grace does have one downside however, and that is her fear of other dogs. Unfortunately we cannot know her circumstances before she was found but she can be quite snappy. At the moment we are working on socialising her with all different kinds of dogs but this is obviously going to be a long process. She does show interest in sniffing other dogs and she walks out with another female most mornings, the problem generally seems to arise when another dog tries to say 'hello'.

Overall, Grace is such a lovely happy dog to have around, and everybody comments on how cute she is! We all definitely think she deserves the very best home possible!
