Grace and I went out to our first British Dressage competition at Myerscough this afternoon... she has been to 5 unaffiiated competitions since being rebacked, so I was a little nervous because it was the first time I had done BD but also because it was in a long arena and I have never ridden a test in one before.

We got there and she had a bit of a 'Grace moment' in the carpark when I got on her (in that she did a baby rear and spun around away from a wagon coming at her) but as soon as I got her in the arena she worked really well and gave me everything I asked of her.

When it was time for the test I did feel she was starting to fade a little, but she did a lovely test and her first centre line was poker straight

We had a wobble in the right canter because she was shying at something and I was asking her to move her quarters under her a little more, and her halt wasn't brilliant.

We finished on 65.83% which I am absolutely thrilled with for our first affiliated

We are either 5th or 6th, not sure which. I left before it had finished and just looked on the website and there are two of us on this mark and don't know the collectives.

So, does this mean that is one test towards the Area festival?

Do you get points for coming 5th or 6th?

Here are some photos of when we had finished... I was too nervous to have any taken before

This is my right side - Do you like my plaits? It was a first time for me having them done, and the first time my Mum has ever done it too!

Well done.

You get points for %s not placings, so as Castlemouse says you've got 3 points IF it was a Novice test.
However, if it was a Prelim then no points as you don't get points at Prelim.

Re. the Area Festival, yes, you just need one more sheet at 60% or more at the same level to qualify for the AF.

Well done again!!

unfortunately you dont get points at prelim level.

However you are part qualified for a Petplan Area Festival - you just need one more score 60% + to fully qualify, which im sure you will get.

Points systems is as follows (for Novice level upwards):

60 - 61.99 - 1pt
62 - 63.99 - 2pt
64 - 65.99 - 3pt
66 - 67.99 - 4pt
68 - 69.99 - 5pt
70 - 71.99 - 6pt

and so on..............

thanks... i was really pleased with her...

comp not working properley so sorry for short reply.
