So yesterday saw the return of Gracie. Her first show & course since Arena UK festival last September where she had fun jumping a BN and the 4YOs. As people may remember from that report, She was slightly green but very willing and I was very excited to get her out over the winter.
Unfortunately, as life has a way of doing, everything didn't go to plan. First of all we moved yards (which I don't regret one bit as I love our new yard!) And my lovely daddy got diagnosed with cancer, which threw all of our lives out of normality and into a few months of upset and difficulty. (He is now 1/4 way through his chemotherapy and is looking and feeling so much better!) So as you can imagine, the horses and jumping went on the back burner!
Anyway, fast forward to yesterday and we went jumping. I was aiming for the BN but we got there late so I entered the 95cm Scope qualifer where we got an unfortunate baby 4flts at the start of a double. Obviously just looked a bit scary and Gracie took a dislike but flew it 2nd time round. We wobbled round the 95 a bit but then came back in for the 1.00 which was beefy and twisty and she absolutely flew. DC for her so she is going to scope! She wasn't quite fast enough to place but I didn't push for a fast round. Can't believe how amazing this horse is for rising 5. She is turning into an absolute superstar, producing her has been an absolute dream. I'm so lucky.
So overall yesterday was just a fabulous day. Dad drove the lorry (The man is unstoppable!) He was feeling great, the horse was, the sun was shining, and then she went and pulled an amazing round out the bag! My lovely boyfriend came and was an amazing groom, photographer and all round help,so it was smiles all round for us all! So nice to see everyone smiling and laughing again. This horse really is one in a million.
So many pics to follow! And now we wait for the scope schedule to come out! Hope to try qualify for the 1.05 too but we will see what happens.
