Grackle bridles

Is there any real benefit to having sheepskin on a grackle? Or is leather padding fine?

I like the sheepskin on mine, because it sits on bone I just feel it must be a bit more comfortable. I think plain leather looks much smarter though.

What is even the point of a grackle?

To help prevent jaw crossing in a kinder less restrictive way than a flash might.

Thanks I am just looking for a show bridle so wont be used very often so will go with the leather one

I have a lovely one from Flexible Fit which has a gel padded leather piece. It comes with a sheepskin option too but the little padded bit is my preference
