i have been recommended to try out a grackle nose band as my pony has been crossing her jaw, so i bought one yesterday i was wondering if it is okay to use with a three ring gag? i would be grateful for any advice

Just as a different option if it doesnt work out, Horsewear have a bridle which is a 3 in one bridle (also a headcollar and gavason (sp?!)) Its a bit expensive, but it is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!
A livery at my yard bought it for her gelding who used to open his mouth, cross his jaw, and get his tongue over the bit (and would then bugger off at lightning speed!) and she was too scared to ride him so I was (and tbh he never did it with me anyway) but this new bridle on him is just WOW what a difference! it has a jowl (sp?) strap, and sort of a dropped nose band, and clips which attach to the bit to stop it moving too much in the horses mouth etc.......... a really nice bridle, and we have now got 3 on the yard and it has really made a great difference to all 3 horses!
