Grackle nosebands?

can someone please show me a pic of a correctly fitted grackle noseband just want to check mine is fitted correctly

also what is the difference (if any) between a mexican and a grackle noseband?

Mexican grackles have rings on them, sit a bit higher and have a padded nosepiece. You might just be able to see mine on the left hand side of my sig! I'll see if I can find a better one....

Please ignore my face, you can't see the rain but it was tipping down and I couldn't see! T's is a bit close to but does not touch his eyes and certainly doesn't affect his vision.

thanx i have a cob size one for my mare as she has a funny sized head! its fitted just a little bit lower than yours just worried it will rub her a bit

I think the crossing point should sit approximately in line with the bottom of the horse's cheekbones. Make sure the padded bit is high enough that it doesn't affect the breathing, as you sometimes see them fitted too low.
Are you using it to allow your horse to breath a bit easier?

its been recommended as she crosses her jaw and puts her tongue over the bit but i think its helping with her breathing as she isnt snorting and huffing as much as she did in the flash
i always make sure that the padded bit is high enough

Sounds a lot like T but it worked wonders for him. He did have a bit of a paddy about it at first though so beware, but he's getting better as he gets used to it.

Regular grackles tend to slip but I've never had any problems with Mexican grackles slipping
