Particularly for those in the Lincs area, sad news that the very well known local Grade A stallion 'Millbrook' developed colic last week and had to be PTS.
His owner Derek bred him from his own stallion and mare - and Millbrook went on to win many thousand of pounds with his rider John Renwick.
Derek turned down huge offers for him over the years but kept him from the day he was born to the day he died.
Even his stallion-hand Brian raised the horse from 6 months old and was with him when he died.
Both men (and their family's) are devastated even though Millbrook was the ripe age of 20 - they never thought the day would come.
He was thier 'horse of a lifetime'
RIP 'Millbrook' aka 'Barney'!
(My mare is due to have one of his last foals this July so fingers crossed foalie will be born fit and well)

That's a shame. I had a mare once by Templetrine which was by Millbrook.
He was a lovely talented horse
