Grain free competition horses?

I've recently gone grain free myself and am reaping the benefits (fat loss and increased energy) and I thought about horse feed and whether or not grain was a natural feed for them. (It isn't, of course. Nor is a demanding exercise/competition schedule)

I was wondering, are there any good grain free feeds out there designed for the energy requirements of a racehorse/eventer/polo pony?

All suggestions are welcomed!

Top Spec do a grain free balancer for most types of workload, although their specific racehorse balancer does I think contain grain. I'm currently trialling their antilam, lite and senior versions with good results.

My mare is usually on Saracen Shape-Up feed balancer but switches to Saracen Releve when she is competing for the slightly higher energy value.
Has worked well this year fed with her supplements and unmollassed alfalfa chop.

Copra meal, grass nuts, rice bran and linseed are all higher energy than grains. Try it and see! Different things suit different horses!

I think I'm trying to avoid things like rice bran, but the lucerne based one sounds interesting. Thanks for all of the suggestions, peeps.

Top Spec cool and condition is 98% grain free
Saracen Releve
a&p calm and condition v low in grain
equijewel
outshine
slow release cubes
winergy
pure feeds

There are loads now tbh, the feeds are mostly made up of oils, alfa products, soya hulls, linseed and unmollassed sugar beet...
