Just been watching Burghley and the commentators were talking about the effect of a sheepskin noseband in lowering the horses head when coming in to a jump. I am sure the horse in question was in a grakle but could have been mistaken. Would it be possible to fit a sheepskin cover to a grakle noseband? I am interested because our pony is jumped in a grakle and would benefit from having a lower head carriage into a fence.

The sheepskin noseband would have to be over a caverson. Its quite possible that the horse had both a grackle on, underneath, and then a caverson on top. Beacuse a caverson doesn't actually do anything its absolutely fine. I would give it a go as sheepskin nosebands and cheeckpieces work really well for some horses.
