Grakles like Zara and Laura Collett

Hate to do a must have bit of tack like the stars but....really want to try a grakle but want it to be very well padded, eg. Toytown's or Fernhill Sox's noseband. These aren't the mexican grakles, they are the lower ones. Does anyone know what make they are? Where you can get them? p33&37 of new BE mag for photo!

They are traditional grakles. I know Zara gets her bridlework done by Stroud Saddlery. They are alot more direct than Mexican grakles, but obviously can work well in the correct circumstances.

Can I ask what you mean by direct? Do you mean they are more or less severe than a Mexican grakle? Will call Laurence at SS and quiz him! Many thanks

Mexican grackles are supposed to be more comfortable for the horse, i'm not sure how though?? I jump my mare in a 'traditional' grackle, which she is fine with, it's a jeffries one but it doesn't have any padding, i'm not sure where you can get padded ones from, sorry.

Yes they are more severe because they havce a stronger action than a mexican, that disperses pressure over a larger area than the traditional ones. Hope that makes sense!?

I've got an English Grakle (Similar to the Mexican job but without the little metal rings on the cheeks). I've sewn a pad of sheepskin onto mine in the hope of making it more comfy

Grackle nosebands are used for a specific purpose.....they are not a fashion item. If your horse does not require one then don't put them in one. Does your horse cross his jaws when being ridden...if he does then try one....if not then don't.
