Was looking at my ponio's breeding on the below link and noticed that his Grand (x3) Sire is down twice - Yellow Star. So my ponio's grand sire has the same grand sires.

Does that make any sense! Do this happen often? Any thoughts.

Any info on his breeding would be good too as I dont really have much info. Any traits etc in his family?

Firstly -all breed pedigree is not always reliable as evidenced by your boy being listed as a dun when he is a buckskin.

If you look at Yellow Star you will see he is from a brother/sister pairing but as he only appears on the sire's side of the pedigree your boy is not line bred to him.

Ah yes - forgot to change that bit - will go back and edit that he is buckskin.

I dont really understand the second bit - im a bit dense when it comes to breeding! :(

It is quite a common thing in both horses and dogs. When it works it is called 'Line Breeding' when it doesn't, it is inbreeding!

It is not as close as many pedigrees, especially TBs.
