Granulated Plastic Surfaces

do people still have granulated plastic surfaces? you never seem to see them about anymore.
I may have chance of getting some to redo our outdoor and was after others experiences, i remember riding on it mixed with sand years ago and it seemed quite good, although did brake down quite quickly and it did flood, but that may have been down to poor drainage.
does anyone know how much i would need for a 25 x 40 m paddock? also what ratio of sand to plastic, or would you just have plastic??

They tend to get dusty in dry spells and they get deep quite quickly. Wouldnt be my first choice but the modern surfaces are pretty expensive! I'd prefer sand and rubber probably
