Grape sized lump above nostrill?!?

Just noticed this on my mare last night, she seemed a bit off, and last week she objected to me doing her noseband up.

She also feels a bit swollen under the jaw on the same side.

Also coughing and spluttering more than usual when first ridden.

Getting the vet out anyway, but any suggestions?

Nasal atheromas are cysts that occur in the soft tissue above the nostril. They are harmless and rarely change in size or become a problem. However, it sounds as though your horse may have something else going on if she is exhibiting other respiratory signs and swelling of the jaw which may or may not be connected. I'd see what your vet says!
