(Graphic pictures in link) Wound, before and after 2 weeks.

i think its pretty imposible for it to heal that well in two weeks but you never know although my horse grazed his fetlock 3 weeks ago and only took the first layer of skin and the hair off and it looks nothing near as good as that :S and it certainly isnt as bad as that, either my horse is a slow healer or im doing something wrong :P

I think thats a reasonable healing time tbh, it looks horrific but actually is fairly superficial, the tissue underneath doesnt look damaged badly at all and muscle repairs suprisingly quickly. Bless the wee fella.

Who would abandon a horse with that wound???

It's obviously healthy or the wound would take much longer to heal.

Poor chap... doesn't say how it happened?

my friend sent her mare to stud (a good 15yrs ago now) and the stallion actually bit a hole in the mare's neck. The hole went from one side to the other, and was about the size of a 50p piece in the middle, but at the outside of her neck was about fist sized either side (if that makes sense). :(

The wound healed to a similar stage to that pony in about 3 weeks, and once the hair grew back the only sign was a slight dent like a prophets thumb mark on either side of her neck.

My friends horse went from this to this in 5 weeks and back in work.

Cripes!!!! I can't see the FB link as on work computer but Evelyn, that's horrid! If i saw my horse with a wound like that i think I'd pass out! Amazing how bad something can look though but how well it can heal.
