Are mares more prone to getting a grass belly than geldings? Women put on weight in different places than men - is it the same for mares and geldings. Just curious!

more to the point-will someone tell me how to get rid ofg it in a pony that is on very short grass and ridden 6 days a week!!! lol!

Cairo looks a bit like Chancer's space hopper at the moment. They are on the winter paddock this week to graze it down - and they are doing their job very well and stuffing themselves.
I am bringing in at night to give them a rest - they had better enjoy it - it is only for a week then back to the very short nibble summer paddock.
I got the evil eye from the big boy last night when he was asked to do 20 mins loose schooling. Young Chancer despite fat belly cantered along happily, whilst the old man grumbled at trotting.
