Hello :)

As per title, I am looking for recommendations of livery yards in the Horsham area please. I am looking for grass livery for my two horses (one mare, one gelding) so good grazing is my top priority. Facilites are not high on the list, but if there is no school then the hacking must be good.

I am looking to move to Sussex (have also looked at Pulborough - found a lovely yard but cannot find a house to live in!), Chichester is also a place we are looking at, so if anyone knows any yards near there too, please let me know!

Thanks very much :D

K :)

there is densworth farm in lavant that do both grass and diy livery, no school yet but plans in place and they are right on the edge of the south downs, so minimal roadwork and tons of hacking.

How many bedrooms do you need in your house? I have just moved out of a lovely but tiny 1 bed house in PUlborough and it is still up for rent? (unless you are buying?) Its up with Henry Adams.
Also for livery yards, Little High Hurst Liveries on the Camelia Botnar Estate is lovely and you cant beat the service you get.

Thank you, I will check it out :)

Hi, we will be renting but need a 2 bed house, thanks though! :)

Little high hurst stables on the Camelia Botnar estate is dreadful. All seems fabulous but if you knew what went on behind the scenes then you wouldn't go. Everything is only done properly if the client is going to be up to see/check. if not horses are left as they are, but unlike a lot of yard they are over fed. But to a degree of obesity. And then you get charged for the extra feed and hage she has used! She has very little experience in horses. she claims to have been a professional rider but never saw any evidence of this and she no longer rides! Plus when having a lesson it really shows she does not know what she is doing as she says the same things and has no idea about schooling or any of the basics at all. The yard manager just hopes people with much less knowledge come to her yard so she can look knowledgeable and try to help. She has no true understanding of how a horse works or how they should be feed. It always worried me how she would let horses just gallop around the paddocks and not worry about injury, unfortunately horses did get hurt and go lame. Horses are always changing paddocks and friends so kicks often happen. Most of the stables are either tiny (10x10) or poorly ventilated or poorly constructed(home made!) The arena is not levelled enough aand horses struggle to become balanced and strong. But like all these thing it all looks great from the outside.
