Noticed the ponies were not that fussed about the hay today. It is mild, is the grass growing? if so I will be worrying again about lami!

This is Connor not Wooley!

Definitely! Ours have ignored their hay the past few days - and we're 800 ft up in the Scottish Borders so don't usually expect the grass to grow till March.

Yes it is.
We had a visit today from our local ag merchant's grass expert after doing tests on our fields to assess what fertiliser we need this year.
Our potash is really low on one field and that is because the horses grazed that instead of hay being made.
He said the grass this year has virtually never stopped growing (he covers a massive area in his work) and that if this carries on he will be redundant!
Grass will grow at anything over 5, so as today's temp is 11, you can bet it's growing.
ps we have just cut our lawn, something we normally do in March...
