i was talking to someone who buys `grass keep`,they go to an auction and bid for a lot number.they said that it used to be from april 1st till october 1st(6 months and then the fields are rested for 6 months) but it has all changed now and the fields are only rested for about 3 months.

is this true and every where or just around here ?

would be interested to hear about what goes on in other parts of the country.

also there was rather a glut last year and many lots didnt sell at auction around here.
(am glos/wilts BTW)

Yes, there is a lot about... largely because if keeping stock was profitable the land owners would have their stock on the land.

As far as horses go, they are not usualy permitted on grass keep.

it usually goes for hay or ponies around here although a few say no horses.

seems if you buy it now it is from april 1st untill november.

different weather patterns and growing season do you think or extended time to attract more buyers?
