Hi sorry everyone maybe very silly question (yes another one, I am full of them)! I am bringing my horse home to my field beginning July. The grass is already up to my waist, should I get this cut for hay and let it grow again for July or should I leave it to carry growing? Is there such a thing as too long grass for him to graze in? Should I section the field off so he can't eat too much? Thanks

Yes, cut for hay. It would be far too long to graze safely on (more sugar in stem compared to leaf) and you will end up with the grass going over and the field will look a mess.

Then when you get your horse home still section off the field and control grass access by strip grazing.
