Hi All,

I am looking for a place to turn my youngster away on grass livery in Epping or the surrounding area, and am hoping some of you may be able to help with ideas - I'm new to the area so don't have much local knowledge of yards etc.

I need somewhere she can go out with other youngsters in a group and learn the rules of being a horse, supervised if possible (although training not required) as I have another horse on livery and won't be able to go down every day, but will want to visit regularly as I plan to continue her training myself rather than asking someone else to do it.

She's 8 months now, I've started weaning her gradually at home already and that's going well so am looking for a place in about a month's time where she can go once the weaning process is finished. She's Irish bred, so is happy in all weathers and nice to deal with, already leads, behaves for farrier, doesn't break fences etc.

Does anyone know of anywhere I can try? The right atmosphere is more important than distance from Epping, realise I may have to travel a bit, but am prepared to do that for the right place.

Any help much appreciated!

It's pretty unheard of around here i'm afraid. Most of the yards are daily turnout and then 24/7 in the summer. Harolds Park Farm used to do grass livery though, they are in Bumbles Green Nazeing and if you google them you will find a website. Good luck.

I had my horses turned out 24/7 at chigwell not far from epping. 24/7 all year round turnout. Checked daily and fed hay. Huge fields and next to hainault forest. Lady who looks after them is lovely. PM me if you would like her number.
