I have 1 1/2 - 2 acres of good grass land that i am not really useing at the mo, it has lots of grass and plenty of shelter from trees etc as well as a small field shelter.
I was thinking of renting it out to someone if anyone has a youngster needing to be turned away/ older horse a summer off/ retired old horse? from months march - october. Not in winter as i dont want it to be all muddy as i use the other half of the paddock.

Do you think there would be interest for this? How much do you think i should charge? I could look after said horse so it would be a sort of full livery or they could do it themselves?

For Grass DIY £10 per week, you doing Full Grass £25 per week.................just watch your back though as if you're looking after the horse and something goes wrong you will be liable, so insurance needed!

oh, never thought of that Claire. Maybe it wouldn't be a good idea in that case?
What sort of insurance would i need, and how much approx would it be?

or get them to sign a disclaimer, a bit like on the scedules of shows saying that the owners of the land / carer of the horse accepts no liability for any loss, theft, damage, or death of the horse what so ever

xx

I'm afraid disclaimers aren't worth the paper they're written on. Insurance isn't an either/or thing, it's an absolute must.
