On behalf of a friend - she's offering a 10 acre field with decent grazing, some natural shelter, and a stream. Good vehicle access, close to good hacking and within hacking distance of a competition yard with excellent indoor facilities for hire. Very horsey area.

Downside is no stable available and no field shelter.

What sort of 'per horse per week' rate would you think fair?

£10 a week just per horse DIY without hay/feed, etc.

Another £10-£15 a week if the owner doesn't have to go and your friend's checking on them/feeding them.

Plus the cost of any hay/feed supplied.

This is what I offer. FULL grass livery inc horse checked on twice a day, with grooming etc, also includes all hay. Feed, wormers etc to be supplied by horse owner.

why cant i find something like that near me - i pay 120 month for just under 3 acres -barb wired fenced - ok have shelter and stable but both lads live out so would be happy with just natural shelter

I'm paying £150 pcm for 1 pony and 1 horse in 3-3.5 acres with a small field shelter and 1 stable with a water but no electricity.

Im still looking for some land to rent so I can buy my youngster!

PS we do everything and have to go every day and twice a day in winter.
