HI everyone just wondering if you could all give me a rough idea of how much you pay a week for grass livery? I have a horse here on full livery at the monet and as hunting season is finished and the horse will be turned out the owner is kind of expecting to pay nothing!! bearing in mind that the mare has bone spavins and was injected earlier this year which worked and it would be beneficial for her to keep her shoes on and be ridden once or twice a week to not only keep her moving but to keep some weight off as unfortunately she is a very good doer and i have very good grass!!!! and no a muzzle is not an option!!!! So before he comes round for a discussion i would like to know how much you would be prepared to pay for this ? I am also here for 24 hr supervision! thanks x
 
Varies a lot but £2 a day what do you get for that in other terms? We have one 14hh in a 2 acre section of the field which sheep can get under fence to graze as well and charge that figure, but still don't reckon for us to not have full use of field that is enough!
 
Probably not helpful to you but a few DIY yards (including my current one ) charge around £10 a week with and without menages, but with electricity, water, hard standing/tack room etc and emergency stabling (extra).

Moving yard where they do full retirement grass livery (no exercising) for £30 p/w with feed /haylage included. Farrier, EDT, worming and annual jabs extra.
 
I'm in oxfordshire & pay £65 per calendar month per horse, that includes use of the tack room, school & a barn to tie up in, we've also got plenty of storage.
 
Around £15-20 pw here.

If I was said livery and was moving to grass livery then I wouldn't expect the YO to keep my stable for me. I'd say you're well within your rights to let it to someone else and if said livery wants one next winter, she'll have to hope there is one available.

Grass livery isn't the same as choosing to have your horse out 24/7 but having the option of a stable.
 
I have one on full livery , not hunting just a hack, over the summer the owner has the option of out 24/7 it suits me as less work for a few months.
I then charge the same as I do for DIY £25 a week, they have access to a stable if required, I do some exercising if they want me to and charge for that at an agreed rate.
 
Full grass livery is £20 a week. DIY is £10 to inc big bale hay in the winter at one yard, but generally £7 to £10 not inc hay. Most yards have schools and emergency use stables.
 
this isnt a livery yard here i do someones horses for them and they have allowed me to have a livery here and all monies come to me and then there outgoings to me are smaller ! however i have 4 horses here and 4 fields and 4 stables one mare is in foals i am not really in a position to take on another livery if the horse in question is still here! In the past years she has been here the owner has paid me £85 a week which includes checking twice a day riding if neccesary changing rugs etc etc and also field livery this kinds of works on £10 a day for mew to check horse and £15 per week livery inc stable if needed however this year he doesnt want to pay me and i am inclined to tell him to go elsewhere as to be honest if the mare gets too fat and stiff it will make my job a lot harder next season when a) the horse is lame and B) i present them with a vets bill in order for her to hunt comfortably all season!! arghhhh all you professional grooms out there think twice about doing horses for people who think they are bikes and can just forget about them in the summer!! they dont realise that summer supervision is just as important!!!
