Hi I have just bought a lovely cob who is extremely overweight - huge fat pads everywhere and a big crest!! Her feet have been checked by farrier and appear to be good with no signs of lami. At the moment I have her on restricted grazing - just moving the fence a few feet every few days, also I am giving her a net of hay at night in the field which has been soaked for about 8 hours. She has stopped coming in overnight and I have had a few raised eyebrows on the yard at what I am doing! but I feel she is doing well on this regime and has already lost some weight. What do you think? Many thanks

And get used to raised eyebrows! Some people on with horses think that their way is the only way, so long as it's working and getting the desired outcome, your horse is happy and healthy and you have her best interests at heart, your doing fine!
