I have a 15.2 TB x Sec D and weighs 450kg, not in work as he's poor atm after suffering with encysted small redworms. He's eating a stubbs scoop alfabeet three times daily with hifi molasses free and a big glug of sunflower oil but have bought some grass nuts to add in (He's gone off micronised linseed). I don't have anything to weigh dry feed with so roughly what should I be feeding? In laymans terms ie a small scoop? A round scoop? A bucket?? The feed merchants do their own brand and whilst it has the nutritional information it doesnt have feeding guidelines on that I can find. Any tips?

A round Stubbs scoop of nuts weighs approx 1.5 kgs. Does he have ad lib hay or Haylage? If the grass nuts you have bought are made from spring grass, they can be quite heating! If they are made from mature grass, they will be higher in fibre. Simple system feeds do grass nuts. Why don't you give them a ring and ask about feeding quantities etc. Their helpline is good.

I have a big bucket that I put two big round scoops of nuts in and fill with water and my second D x's get a scoop of that per feed twice a day along with their other feeds. I also put a cup of the pellets into treatballs for when stabled.

Apparently it's the same nutritionally as the Northern Crop Driers pellets so I might give them a ring. http://www.millbryhill.co.uk/equest...rse-feed-593/northern-driers-pellets-2097.htm

I had a look at that online buand it had feeding guidelines.

He does have hay - a large haylage net morning and night, goes out on the (poor) grazing in the day too.

Haha predictive text!

Thanks for your help both, much appreciated :)
