Still struggling to put weight on horse (ad lib hay, lives out), currently fed alfa a, racehorse cubes, with some supplements (soya flakes, stud balancer and barley rings).

I feel like good grass would be the answer to get his weight back up, but that's not happening at this time of year... So would it be worth trying grass pellets? I know they should be soaked... But how do I mix it with my regular feed? at mo he gets 1 feed a day (someone feeds for me so if I could keep it at this that would be good!).

Anyone currently feed it? And can I just buy regular cattle/ sheep grass nuts or do I need special horse ones?

Would love ideas :)

We use them on our cob who used to crib & he looks well on them, he isnt a good do'er either. We dont mix them with anything, just give him those, it was suggested by the lady in our feed store & have to say they to have worked. I didnt actually know they did ones for sheep or cows....mine are in a clear bag so i cant tell you what make they are.

When I fed them I just made up a bucket the night before and left the to soak all day before just giving the horse the bucket at night along with their hay :)

Bucket was clean every morning and it got washed and refilled :)
