The field I am moving to is divided into two, but the water trough (my only water supply) is positioned between the two so horses have access to it from either side. This means that the path between gets extremely boggy in the winter and very hard and rutted in the summer. Has anyone tried grass protection mats for this sort of ground? A bit like playground safety mats, they are rubber with small holes in for drainage and to allow the grass to grow through and are non-slip.
Any opinions? Would I be wasting my money, or is it a good idea? Many thanks.
