My horses are kept in a 2.5acre field and currently come in at night. Since March we strip grazed the field and now have about half an acre of long grass left. Should I strip graze this grass or just let them have the rest of the field? (It might difficult to move the electric fence with the frozen ground) Would giving them all the grass cause any problems?

I have just over 2.5 acres for full turnout.

I have the field seperated in 4 which I graze individually normally then from nov-feb I just let them have the whole field and open in all up. They tend to leave the bottom paddock so thats the first one they go back in to in Feb/March. All depends on grass growth though to be honest. x

We are still opening up bits of the Paddock Paradise track ours are on at the moment. They will get free access to the remainder of their field which is totally closed off right now in January or February. I'd eek it out as long as you can. Mine love being able to nibble at some grass each day and not just hay.
