The Animal Health Trust has launched a nationwide trial of a vaccine for the prevention of equine grass sickness. The current theory is that EGS is a toxico infectious form of botulism caused by Clostridium botulinum type C. If your yard has had a case of grass sickness in the last 3 years you could be eligible to take part in the vaccine trial. Please be aware that the AHT have changed to an 'open' recruitment phase which means you can enrol any time this year.
