Hi,

I recently moved to Histon, just north of Cambridge, and am considering buying a horse but have no real knowledge of the area.

Can anyone suggest any yards within a reasonable distance of Histon? Pref with a school and secure tack room.

Thanks,

Sarah

There are quite a few up that way...

College farm livery in fen drayton is probably nearest.

If Waterbeach isn't too far (google says 8 mins drive) then I recently went to look at a lovely small yard with everything brand new american barn, good (I believe unlimited) turnout and a really nice school. It is called Rush hill/Rushill farm and I have the number/email for the owner if you would like it :-)

The only reason I didn't choose it was because my loan horse is a chronic crib biter/windsucker/stresshead and I found grazing right near my house in the end which can be hard to find round here!

This website is good http://www.cambridge-horse.com/livery.html

Oh also have seen a few vacancies come up on facebook groups and they are useful for a wanted ad or trying to get in touch with elusive livery owners! Try these:

They are very useful for second hand rugs etc and also horses for sale if you're looking :-)
