Hi Everyone,

I'm after a bit of help or advice! :)

Im moving to a propety off Titchfield Lane next month and I've seen a few yards and loads of land along this road. A friend and I are looking to keep our horses together and just need a field and 2 stables.

We have a 16.1 Gelding and a 15.3 mare, both are very well behaved and exercised regularly.

If there are any private yards coming up with more then 4 stables, we would also be interested in taking this on as we can fill the other boxes and keep a good source of money coming in to the owner.

We are not looking to have our horses looked after by anyone as we are both available to complete all duties ourselves - if however assisted livery was available at a good price we would consider this.

If anyone has any information available or know's anyone looking to fill boxes or has land please PM me. We're looking to move as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Hello, Not sure if it's much help my there is a very big yard in River Lane, just of Titchfield lane and there always seem to have some spaces. There got a bottom and top yard. Its worth just to go there and speak to someone. You do have to buy your hay of them though which I remember was quite expensive. Carrow Rowe often have some spaces to, google them and you should find a phone number. There is also Fontley house but I think they only do part livery now but got nice facilites. The only thing with that area is that the hacking is crap and your horses need to be very traffic proof. All those yards do have nice outdoor arenas though.

Hi!

Thanks for the post - We visited Woodleigh a couple of weeks ago to ask, but they only had one space unfortunately, but Carrow Rowe I've not heard of. It comes up on Google as a fishing farm?

Thanks again. :)

That's right. If them a call and she direct you to the yard manager. The yard is nice and very clean. There are a lot of yards round the area. A bit further away you got Shedfield Tack Shop and there were recently advertising for liveries. ALso have a look on nfed. It be more difficult to find a yard with two spaces. I know Frank Barlett has got a lo of land in by titichfield lane but I have lost his number. His place is near the fishermens rest, its a farm shop. Might be worth asking him as well. Good luck with your search. Woodleigh often have spaces come up, they have quite a turnover there.

A lot of the land and stable yards along there are privately owned and not for liveries.

Are you thinking of Abbey Feeds by the Fishermans Rest on Fontley Road? as they have liveries ?

Yes I was thinking of abbey feeds. A friend nearly rented a field of him very cheap but it had barb wire fencing. It might be good to speak to him for a short term soloution depending what you want. I would look on nfed. If you like hacking I would broaden your search area.

If you want decent hacking I would look at the other side of the A27 (Titchfield village side). You can get to the beach and bridleways from there.

Thanks for all the messages, I've got a list of people to contact now.

If anyone knows of people that have private fields and yards that side I would be interested to find out if they would consider renting a field etc.

Thanks for all the help so far! :D

My yard is off Titchfield Lane but sorry I am not looking for liveries. I have an empty stable but its been empty for 4 years! If you were really stuck I may be able to offer you short term grazing. However if you want an unbiased opinion on any of the yards around there I may be able to help. I have to say though the hacking is pretty dire, lots of roadwork. Titchfield Lane itself is very busy and parts of it really are not suitable to ride along safely at all.

Abbey Liveries have been upgrading and building new stables, they are also in the process of putting in a school, lovely people and a feed/tack shop on site. Fontley House has good facilities and has some off road riding.

Yards and fields in the area are like finding hens teeth!

What a shame I rented out one of my fields a few months ago to some lovely ladies.
Agree the hacking requires a bombproof horse and Titchfield Lane itself is far too dangerous for anything to hack on IMO. Lots of blind corners and no where to get off in an emergency coupled with the low slung trees blocking out daylight in places is too risky.

Hi,

Where abouts along Titchfield Lane are you? I'll be moving up the end where the Patio Centre is?
Any help and advice is really appreciated!

Ermmm I don't know of a Patio Centre anywhere along Titchfield Lane! There are several garden centres along there, all of which sell patio's!

If its the place I'm thinking of it doesn't look like a garden centre its more of a track leading to a place that sells patio's and stoneware type stuff. Its in one of the more dangerous areas of the road if I'm thinking of the right place.

BBH - that's the end I'm at, but if I head back towards Titchfield there's loads of land about.

As long as where I go isn't too far from there I'm very happy! :)

There is certainly loads of land but big swathes of it is privately owned I'm afraid.

Agreed it is a lovely area.
