grazing mask

hi my mare is very prone to weight gain and in the worst of the winter i will have to feed my two horses a large haylage in a feed ring rather than some twice a day.i am worried about her taking laminitis and wondering if a grazing mask could be used to limit her intake.i have never used one before as during summer i have three small paddocks so can limit her grazing

My mare wears the green guard grazing muzzle with the halter, she wears it every day in the summer but I do bring her in at night and take it off and she has soaked hay. Normally in the winter she will have a rest from the muzzle but the grass is still good this year so she's still muzzled.

The shires one, or an equivalent design would be ideal for this. I think it would be much like using a small holed haylage net.

I use muzzles from Dinky Rugs... They're lightweight and don't rub (the shires ones can).
We use them on a Shetland and a 17hh warmblood. Their a bit easier for horses to get the hang of too...
