Hi all, my Thoroughbred has recently had a suspected bout of laminitis so i need to use a muzzle. So far shes only worn her Shire's bucket muzzle twice but i can already her nose is starting to get red and i'm sure it won't be long before it hurts her. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution for it?

My boy was rubbed sore with the 'shires' one. It rubbed his nostrils under his jaw and end of nose.

In the end i put it in the bin and paid the extra for a 'best friend' one which appears the same but has never rubbed at all despite being worn 24/7.

Someone suggested puttin one in the washing machine to beat it up a bit! I wrapped fybagee round mine and never had a problem with it rubbing my TB afterwards

someone else suggested sudocreme-ing it, they found that one out by accident the sudocreme was meant for the sores but they found it softened the muzzle too!

Mines rubbing my girlie a bit but not too badly so I am ignoring the plaintive whickering and whinging I can hear from the field (our house is being renovated so I am in a static caravan and Madam has worked out she can yell from the field through the metal walls :-O))))

Thanks very much for all the advice everyone. I've ordered some fybaee and i will try the sudocrem aswel, fingers crossed that does the trick.
