My pony can't stop eating - he's getting huge. Field is fenced off and still he gets huge. I popped him back out in his grazing muzzle last night.. he didn't pull it off - which was a first but has nasty sores this morning. I know it's better than him being dead but it can't be nice for him. Has anyone used a decent muzzle that doesn't make your horse look like he's been boxing. I show him and I can't imagine the judge won't spot it.

Is it the right size/correctly fitted? Mine can get a bit loose sometimes with wear and then in rubs her (also make sure she has fly spray on her face too so she doesn't itch face becasue of flies and rub muzzle off). If its the velcro bits try outting vetwrap around - works for me!

My friend uses the green guard one with the special headcollar - its expensive but she swears by it as she has laminitic types.

Hope this helps!

Im currently using a green guard muzzle with the headcollar. It was stupidly expensive but the horse couldnt get on with any of the other bucket type ones i tried.
The green guard one hasnt rubbed the headcollar is padded around the poll & nose. The horse seems a lot happer *he's muzzled so think barely ears forward happy lol*. But at least he is grazing, ok it's restricted but he wouldnt even try in the bucket one's he also got sore's from trying to take the bucket type off.

Ive had to do it as he's a retired IDxTB who's just about ready to come down with Lammi if i hadnt. So the green guard muzzle is def cheaper than a huge vets bill.

ooooft i have experience with muzzles!!!!! dont buy an expensive one it will just get trashed anyway lol!! best off with a shires on and as peeps have said put sheepskin on it for comfort
