I have acquired a pony with cushings to keep my old retired lad company. They are getting on great. Pony is on one pracend a day. Previously pony was out for 5 hours a day un muzzled on good grass. Then a haynet in afternoon which he didn't really eat and a haynet over night which he didn't really eat. He is now out 24/7 with myold boy on very long grass. He is muzzled during the day and has a tiny pen at night which gets extended to allow for a littbit of grass overnight, un muzzled. He would of course prefer to stay in big field. Can I muzzle 24/7? He has 2 muzzles to swap between, one allows eating from the bottom, the other from the side. I had read muzzles shouldn't be left on 24/7 but I know a few people do.TiA

I have 3 muzzled 23/7.From a tiny shetland to a big 17hh ISH. They come up am and pm for a check and balancer hence the 23/24 hours. Thinline for the big ones and a tiny other make for shetland. All fine and not skinny!

Thanks for your reply. I might give it a go. He hasn't put any weight on on his new routine.

My old boy lived happily in a Tough 1 Easy Breathe 24/7. I gave him a feed and small net daily, because I felt guilty, but it kept his weight stable and prevented him stuffing himself. No longer possible due to failing dentition (he's 30) but the same failing dentition means he has to eat slowly.

Mine is out in his Thinline when he stays out on the weekends. I've had to pad the headcollar to keep the arms away from his face but that said he has the biggest head I have ever come across so the muzzle is only just big enough - this is in an XFull muzzle only loosely fitted on the last hole to give us more space, and the headcollar is also on the very last hole.
