So, it seems that it's almost a definite that my parents are moving, which means the horses have nowhere to go. I think it'll happen over Summer, maybe (if I'm lucky) through autumn, and I doubt we're moving far. I still live at home due to University, so I'll be going with them. I work in a small town called Bourne, so I'm hoping I can find somewhere around there, because that's a definite.
As no one is advertising any land for rent, which I'm hoping would be around 3-4 acres, with a field shelter, or a stable and field shelter and water. Though there's ways to work around a lack of facilities, which I will do anything to keep my horses. IT would be for a TB and two mini shetlands. I can't do livery as a) I don't see the point in paying £25 a week per shetland when they wont need a stable, any use of school and would need about half an acre between them for the entire year, and b) My mare gets very stressed on a big yard. So it has to be at least a paddock with fencing, suitable for horses, preferably with no other horse there as one shetland is actually a stallion (though doesn't act like one at all).
Obviously my first request would be, if you hear of anything around Bourne/Market Deeping/Stamford, please let me know about it
And secondly, how much do people charge on average? Baring in mind I will take a bare field with nothing but trees for shelter, a fence and a shed to keep bits and bobs in (though a field shelter would be extremely nice too!).
I've left myself time to look, as I'm going to be posting letters through land owners doors to see if they would consider allowing 1 and 2 half horses on their land, which I feel really cheeky doing, but it's the only way I can keep my horses.
Any help/suggestions/advice would be much appreciated
Thank you in advance
