Pretty sure it has a proper something dermatitis name but can’t tbink what.
Little greasy bits that if you scratch or brush off leave the patch bald.
I know lots get it on their cannons.
Little exracer always had it in training, his face and the muscle lines of his bum were effected so he usually had bald patches.
I used to use dentinox cradle cap
Shampoo and only brush it gently. I found the less tough I tried to be the better it was. However it needed the same thing day in day out to keep on top of it and without fail over the weekend it went back to square one 😩
It drove me nuts and I was determined once he was mine he’d not get it... he has 😡 he’s not even in work (need to point this one out to the boss who used to claim it was sweat not being washed off properly!)
Has anyone managed to get rid completely or have any really good tips to keep it at bay?

Yes, sort of! This year (also TB) I just left it alone! Gentle brushing with a soft body brush that’s all and it’s almost gone. Happens every year at coat change time in the Spring. Nothing I used or tried worked, so this year just accepted it. Much better, no soreness either which was what happened when I tried to ‘treat’ it in the previous ten years!

When I had one that would get this I just twice daily have a rub with the rubber mitt when grooming. It didn't have a chance to build up. Once the coat was changed the rub with the mitt was not needed any more, so just groomed as usual.

My admittedly very greasy cob gets such bad patches on the front of his back legs, he looks as if he has splints.

I use a human psoriasis shampoo, rub in, leave for ten minutes and then wash off and it works very well. He is very worried about anything to do with his legs but this is obviously soothing and a nice experience as it is one of the few times he doesn't do river dance while having his legs handled. He was such a diva on Saturday that he is currently sporting one clipped leg as I ran out of time to do the rest.

It also doesn't need doing very often which is a bonus.

I have used nizoral human psoriasis shampoo and I think it helps a bit. I use it occasionally and just brush over with a soft brush in between to stop it building up
