greasy coats/clipping

last week had hell of a job clipping hairy pony, greasy coat and clippers kept jamming, had new blades too. Any tips on making it easier to clip, was b...y hard work

my mare has poor skin condiotion and is on lots of skin supplements and a couple of days before i clip her i was her and it makes her nice a fluffy ...but then agen its a bit cold t be bathing ... so i dnt no rely lol not much help..xx

Use a bottle of shampoo, warm water, a sweat scraper, a couple of old towels and work very quickly.

you are right, the grease & dirt in a horses coat is the death of clipper blades

If you hot cloth them with meths or surgical spirit this helps strip all the grease out and clipping time and ease is sooooooooooooooooo much better!
