greasy stable bars!!

just wondered if anyone had any good secrets about how to get that nasty grease off metal weaving bars and the tops of doors?? its a job ive been putting off as i dont think any amount of scrubbing it will work!!! (and ive got too much else to do!!!!!):(

might try oven cleaner....

If it's grease you could try dissolve-it, a solvent type thing for cutting through kitchen grease. I was impressed when I did my cooker top.
You'd need to wash off well with soap after though.

good old fashioned soda crystals dissolved in water as hot as your hands can stand and a scrubbing brush. No easy way I don't think. I have all mine to do and keep putting it off!

Ours all came off when we hot jet washed the whole of the stables-drastic but effective!It is disgusting stuff tho:-/

Warm water, Fairy Liquid, stiff brush and lots of elbow grease!!

Used to work at a yard where all metal edging etc around and tops of doors had to be scrubbed clean every week, not a job i particularly liked much!

I use a large sponge scouring pad. Use the rough side with any kind of kitchen degreaser and v. hot water.
Using a sponge pad you can wrap it around bars etc and clean all sides at once. The bigger the sponge the better-cover as much area in one wipe as possible!!
