Hi

I am currently using an over reach boot as a bottle holder in my car. Works brilliantly actually
Wondered if any fellow HHO'ers have some great uses for horsey stuff?:)

As I tend to find that anything intended for horse usage is vastly more expensive than a similar "domestic" item I'm more inclined to look at things the other way round. Such as why buy a grip pad when in the pound shop you can buy a couple of metres of the same stuff for a quid and cut your own out.

Like dee o'dorant, usually do it the other way round. But use a shavings fork for raking the garden & de-weeding flower beds. And various first aid stuff. Such as dermobion on a cut that I kept re-opening on a finger. Hot poulticed an infected bite on my arm with animalintex with success. And have frequently used bandages, vetwrap & dressings on myself & once on daughter. Use a plastic curry on the dog too.

saddle soap did a lovely job at bringing the leather writing pad on a bureau I bought on ebay back to life :D

Schooling whip = best cat toy ever - they love chasing the lash on it - they had my last one for five months and it got played with daily, when it finally snapped from too much cat play I had to buy them another one!

Have sported the stirrup leather belt look once (holding a spare one and got asked to lead out on a trek - it was that or drop it ) and more than once have seriously considered using mane and tail detangler in my usually matted long hair

A white van man got his van stuck in mud in the field by our house and we used my lunge line as a tow rope to our 4x4 to pull the van out!

Also a colleague of mine goes diving for sunken treasure and uses my old haynets to put his finds in to bring up to the surface.
