So did our fourth novice today. Reasonable dressage, halfway up a pretty good field so better than normal, was trying a new bit but decided its not for him.
Was jumping him over a 1.30m course last night so expected him to be tired. He was PINGING over the SJ, flew the course. Sadly I touched him with my stick over a double and after that he went a bit haywire, we were downhill and I turned too sharp. So had both parts of the vertical double down

. silly me!
But he jumped out of hi skin.
XC was big. One fence got taken out as it collapsed!

about ten horses before me. Shame as it would have been a rider frightener for me but I'll live. Was wearing a stopwatch for the first time which was good. Had the grackle on and it gave me a brilliant amound of control and he still rode on nicely. First three were fab, he flew on, 4 was a humoungous drop, got controlled and no probs. ,6 a turn and he did it well! 7, skinny down a a hill and he had a 'I know better' moment, but the listened. Over a veg. table, double of skinnies on a turn, over a trakehner (small, changed to this one from the fence that collapsed), log through water then another skinny lof, tiger tappy thing, then jumping into water (he's fab! have great pics!), tiger trap, stile, corner, roller, then over a big birchy thingy, and racehores gallop to finish inside the time. I do love my horse when he gallops/jumps. So thats out 4th novice clear and leaves us still with a clean sheet xc. V. pleased. Go loads of photos, will put them up tomorrow. Beautiful ground too, although all the courses were up to height!

Oh he is, best thing is the person who has to pass me for Necarne was there and saw it and thought it was good. Thanks all.

Well done

Was this Craigantlet? I might have got a photo of you at the water as I was at that fence until the end of the novices. I thought the hedge drop at 4 was really scary!

Yes it was! The drop was very scary! My boy came in and said' let's fly at this tiny hedge,' and I was like, oh no!!
ohh...I was number 43 in dark blue colours with babyblue in there too?
