Today was the children's preference meet, and the last one of the season for me and Tara as she is having a few weeks holiday starting...now
So was asked at the meet to go on point with Sam, our whipper in. T'was all go from here on! None stop for about an hour, was a really fast moving day today. Jumped some pretty large fences too, from a standstill, Sam just says, "come with me" and turns to a huge hedge and jumps it and im like eh
and follow suit
Tara was amazing, although a little tired. Sam had to go and find 2 lost couples, so i got put with our joint master- me and him led the way around our best jumping country, Tara was jumping a treat even though she was tired!
Came to "The Hedge", the biggest hedge our hunt jump on a reasonably regular basis. So off me and Tara go, still in with the "big boys", and i had to give her a waking up with my sick going into it, so hailed a cab over it, only to notice the photographer on the other side- that'll be a funny picture
Joined the field after a good 3 hours on point, I was kept out for ages because the other youngsters in our hunt where too much of a liability apparently
Finished off a 2:30 as was heading towards home- brilliant end to a brilliant hunting season
