20 year-old Dan Neilson won this evening's 1.50m qualifier for Sunday afternoon's GP in Dortmund with Milena 8. Last to go in the 17 horse jump-off they beat a lot of top riders including current world no. 1 ranked Pius Schizer, Marcus Ehning and Ludger Beerbaum. Mandy Goosen also did an excellent job with home-bred Little Tinka (by Tinka's Boy out of Fiorella) to finish 5th. Ellen Whitaker was 8th with Ocolado - a slight misunderstanding brought them almost to a halt on a late turn or they might have made it a British 1 & 2!
Dan has also gone clear with Varo M in both the Young Horse classes, so could do well in Sunday's Final.
Jemma Kirk and Wexford won the 1.50m GP on the Sunshire Tour today.
