Hi all haven't posted for a while but thought I'd update you.
Think I last posted when I had just backed Alee well she is now doing short 10 min hacks and short 10 mins in the school a couple of times per week plus being long reined 1/2 times and the odd show.
The riding is going great and she can now trot too!! Not in a straight line I might add but we are getting there!!
Got placed 2nd at Collette's Horse Show at Plumpton College a couple of weeks ago the judges loved her but couldn't place her any higher due to some scars and a splint on her leg which is fair enough.
Had my first lesson on her today just so that I coudl make sure that I was heading in the right direction with her.
My instructor congratulated me on picking such al ovely well temperd and well mannered horse - when I first bought Alee my instructor was seriously unimpressed!!
She was also very please with the work I have done and feels that Alee will be 'a dressage star of the future' her words not mine
I am absolutely chuffed to bits as this is my first youngster and the first horse I have started from scratch on my own. The lesson was only 20 mins as Alee's concentration starts to fail after much longer but that was all my instructor needed before telling me she was going well at this stage in her training.
Off to Goring and district show on Sunday for the young stock class - fingers crossed they like her just as much!!
