For me not the horse. Horse is a school master, done 4* stars etc so he teaches me. But he won't do something if you don't ask him right.
So I thought I'd try some extended trot today, so warmed him up, shoulder in, leg yielding etc all fine then asked him to do medium, which he kind of did, wasn't as flash as I no he can do. Asked for some more and he was having none of it so moved on to canter and was doing shortened along the short side and lengthened along the long side. His normal canter stride is about 7 along the short side and 12 up the long side. I was managing 16 in the short side and 7 up the long side. We were also doing flying changes and I tried 3 in a row, which he did but everytime he flying changes he fires me out of the saddle, any ideas on how to sit them or is it just a case of practise?
We then went back to the medium trot which was miles better then tried the extended and wow he can move, I can't sit too it he is far to bouncy.
I then practised my dressage test for Sunday, but horse is far to clever and learnt my test by the second run through and started to steer me through it, he used to do that with the FEI tests too.
So we ended with some walk to canters.
So I thought next time I would try some travers and half pass. Anything else we can try, he gets bored of normal things?
