I've attached a skinny silky rabbity thing to a very long schooling whip and Stan just loves it. It's great for teaching sit/stay and leave it/take it as he really wants to get to play with it. I haven't quite got it to stay on permanently so its a work in progress but the other really good thing for me is I can make the play high energy for Stan without it being too high energy for me, which is very important when you get to my age. If it was telescopic I'd take it out on walks to reinforce recall!Oh and it's got a squeaker in it's tail which is a double bonus! I am as thrilled with it as Stan.

IQ Dogsport does a training vest or jacket with a slot (long thin pocket) which fits a lunge whip down the back of it (that you can produce like a ninja ;) ) and big pockets so you could theoretically take it out with you.
They are very pricey though. If you or anyone you know is good with a sewing machine you could make your own.

I did actually carry a lunge whip when my dog was getting pestered by someone else's huge uncontrollable thug with no recall and don't really care what anyone thought.

Saw the subject line of this post and thought... cat? (Now feel like a bad person).

CC I had to read your post a couple of times before realising that the human wears the vest in question... I need more sleep...

Sounds fab - oodles of terriery fun :D
My Dee dog's favourite thing in the world is those shake-a-fox toys, which I could imagine would be ace on the end of a bendy stick...I have an out of use schooling whip so might give it a go.
The westie however, believes all toys to be a pathetic attempt to imitate real small furry things, so treats them all with the disdain they deserve...

Haha! Sorry! Yes it's human apparel and the latest 'In' thing. I believe the 'stick slot' is patented. Year's ago everyone was running round in the vest with the 'ball dropper' on the left breast pocket, then it was rendered obsolete by magnetic balls which can be positioned anywhere on the body. I'm sure the latest fashion will be along soon!
