Some of you may recall Minstrel the enormous skewbald gelding by our late stallion, he was over 17 hh and I bought him off his breeder just backed because he was by Ambertson. We played with him for a while then sold him to Kent, where he was ridden by one of the Masters of the East Kent hunt.
Last year they tried him eventing and he was placed in two out of three BE he entered. This weekend he entered Eridge? and came 7th, so if anyone was competing there and noticed a striking cob type chesnut and white horse , he was related to our others.
I'm surprised he did so well as he isn't your typical event horse (more Ernie the milkmans to be honest
), they are going to move up a level and see how he does there, but I think sheer time will be a problem for such a huge chap.
Satisfying to know the two competing both got placed though isn't it!
My quest to provide nice ordinary all rounders who will please their owners is proving successful I reckon..
