I gave the youngsters pig trotters for tea and sent them to the garden to eat them. After a little while, it seemed remarkably quiet. I popped out (ok, hobbled ), no dogs.

The OH sprinted out to the car and went looking. The garden behind us leads to a main road and the park. There was a Zak shaped hole in the fence. :(

After a while, the OH phoned to say there was no sign of them. I just could not sit and do nothing so I hobbled to the park  where the OH was driving past. He went mad at me :(

We drove round and round, called into the 24 hour Medivet and then gave the park one last go. The OH used his gun dog whistle, we waited, nothing.

We were just driving past the end of the park when we spotted them, pelting towards us!! Unusually, they'd stayed together (we don't walk them together since we discovered that they like to self hunt and run off if together but then they always split up). We screeched to a halt and the little swines ran straight to the back of the car to leap in the boot.

They're now flat out on the tiles in the lounge having had a massive drink. They are so lucky not to have been hit by a car. Zak is a bit limpy as he's been out much longer than normal.

I'm hugely relieved and will be supervising all garden time for a while. I can't believe how fortunate we are to get them back so quickly.

So glad that they did come back and unhurt. I was a little worried that something might have happened to you when I read the title of your post. Glad to read you are okish

Its ok, donor site is driving me mad, itching, might be allergic to hydrocortisone?

Looking at them this morning, I am SO grateful we got them back and unharmed. I just hope Zak didn't do his 'Im a werewolf' thing with another dog!
